THE PROGRAM STRUCTURE
The Driver Advancement Program can provide drivers currently holding an HR licence with the opportunity to become a fully qualified MC operator within 20 -36 month as illustrated in Figure 1.

This unique structure is perfect for both new entrants into the industry, or experienced drivers who are yet to complete formal training. Drivers can enter the program at any licence level and advance their career.

As Figure 1 shows, the Intermodal Staffing program participant can start their journey with an HR, HC or MC licence, and dependent upon their individual learning plan, can complete a Certificate III in Driving Operations and become a highly proficient heavy vehicle operator.
Alternately, depending on the structure of your fleet and your specific requirements, drivers can complete one or two segments of their training within your business as illustrated in Figure 2

Our comprehensive training structure provides the flexibility of additional time for participants to gain the on-road experience required to prove their skills, and ensure they are ready for a successful driving career for your business.
QUALITY TRAINING & SUPPORT
The Intermodal Driver Advancement Program will provide candidates with access to a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) that will be responsible for administering and delivering the Certificate III in Driving Operations.
The RTO will deliver structured classroom and on the job training. Candidates will receive monthly training sessions. Intermodal Staffing will be responsible for monitoring the performance of the RTO to ensure course content, delivery and effectiveness of training is of a high standard.
After each structured RTO visit, Intermodal’s trainers will visit each trainee to assess the effectiveness of the last training module. Follow up activities will include monitoring for:
- Trainee satisfaction with the course and modules;
- Trainee satisfaction with the RTO trainer;
- Absorption and retention of training materials and lessons;
- Practical demonstrations from the trainee on learning outcomes;
- Coaching and mentoring of the trainee;
- Accompanying driver for half day on the job coaching and observation.
FIGURE 3 illustrates how our trainers conduct follow up visits and provide ongoing support for trainees, delivering value for both participants and program partners.

Registered Training Organisation (RTO)
As Intermodal is the employer, it also manages the quality of the training delivered by the RTO. We work with professional organisations to ensure that the training and course material delivered is of a high standard.
Payroll Tax and/or WorkCover exemptions may apply to trainees of Intermodal Staffing. Such reductions (where applicable) may be passed onto our clients in the form of a reduced hourly rate of hire.
Our invoice for the hourly cost of hire for each program participant includes the following:
- Wages for the driver;
- Payroll tax;
- Workcover insurance;
- Trainer site visits and supervision;
- Traineeship costs;
- Damage coverage; and
 Intermodal Staffing has driver insurance to cover 3rd party property and vehicle damage up to $20,000 (conditions apply)

The above-mentioned certificates have a minimum requirement for completion. However generic training material may need to be replaced with specific or alternative training that is superior and more detailed.
